Already in ancient Egypt and India, cumin was known for its health-giving and culinary properties. Historians consider cumin to be one of the oldest spices in the world. The seeds of Cuminum cyminum look similar to cumin, but have a distinctly different, fresh and slightly sweet taste reminiscent of lemon and camphor.
Cumin is ideal for oriental and Indian dishes, to stews and lentil stew, for homemade curry spice blends, for chutneys and much more.
Small farmers in the rainforest
What makes our cloves special? They come from smallholders in the rainforest of Cameroon. For the local people we offer a source of income and thus take the pressure off the forests, because there is no logging needed to earn money. You support people, nature and climate!

It is best to dry roast the cumina grains without fat in a pan until they release their fragrance. Then you can use them whole or crushed in a mortar. Add them to chili con / sin carne for an oriental touch, season stews and grilled vegetables with cumin.
